Q2 2021 Quarterly Newsletter

News From Flourish

Greetings! I hope you had a fun Independence Day weekend and that the summer is filled without outdoor fun and sunshine. In this quarter's article, I'm going to cover all things technology, starting with a reminder about Flourish's accounts app for our clients, a milestone for our podcasts, our Alexa skills for those who want to learn more about our services and team, and an article on cybersecurity that will help protect your personal information online. Jay will provide a market commentary on this last quarter and set some expectations for the second half of 2021.

News From Flourish

Spring has sprung in Minneapolis (minus this little cold snap we’re digging out of) and we are grateful to see the trees budding and hear the birds chirping. Perhaps everything feels a little brighter as we seem to be emerging from a long and challenging year of global pandemics, market volatility, civil unrest, and of course the many personal challenges we have all had to face.

News From Flourish

Hello and happy fall! While this summer was certainly strange, the weather was nice and we were able to have a few family outings that were restful and memorable. There is much to be thankful for as we near the holiday season and we are lucky that everyone here in the Flourish Family has been healthy and safe. Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone who has lost a loved one during this pandemic and we are hopeful for the time to come when we can have more certainty in our health and safety.

In this quarter’s newsletter we are going to share a story about our summer intern, Grant, and what he took away from his experience here at Flourish. I have written a short piece on the impact of Presidential elections on our economy and, as always, Jay will share his market commentary and our Quarterly Market Review report.

ESG Investing – Opportunity to Align Values and Dollars

How to Profit from Your Values

An important aspect of Environmental Social Governance (ESG) investing is the opportunity to align your values with your dollars. This has been a rapidly expanding part of the investment universe leading to more investment options, more dollars behind those investments, and more impact on corporate behavior. Flourish Wealth Management has been supporting clients’ investment portfolios with ESG strategies for the past few years and has been more actively introducing this investment option to clients for the past 12-18 months. ESG isn’t for everyone, and we don’t put any pressure on clients to include these themes into their investments. However, in a period of significant social disruption, this is an opportunity to provide additional insights into ESG investing.
