News from Flourish

Happy Summer! And what a busy one it has been so far. I just returned from a family trip to Guatemala where we were able to roast marshmallows over the heat of an active volcano, return to the birthplace of my two youngest children, Fernando and Grace, and visit with the now-grown children that we had the opportunity to sponsor in an effort to foster educational opportunities for the underprivileged youth of Guatemala. It was an enriching and emotional journey!

Our staff engaged in a good deal of professional development during the last quarter. Michele Lenz completed the Fundamentals of Financial Life Planning training program with MoneyQuotient, and she also attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison Financial Coaching workshop designed to increase financial professionals’ understanding of coaching theories and skills, recognize the role of values and motivations, and identify applications in professional practice. In addition, we welcomed our new Client Services Manager, Shelly Fayard-Rerat. To learn more about Shelly’s background and experience you can visit her bio page on our website.

We will be sharing two articles this quarter. The first discusses the challenges that women face at different stages of their lives when they are experiencing financial transitions, and what can be done in the present to help mitigate the impact they can have on your life in the future. If you find that this article will be valuable to a person you care about please don’t hesitate to share it with them. In addition, Jay Pluimer shares his quarterly market commentary. I hope your summer is filled with laughter, love, and barbeques. If you have memorable experiences you’d like to share with us please post them to our Facebook page. We’d love to see your summer adventures!

News from Flourish

Despite the mid-April cold snap and the fact that Jay was out shoveling snow while I was finishing up this newsletter, Spring has sprung here at Flourish Wealth Management and we are certainly grateful for it! With many milestones, news features, events and professional development experiences to share, it is hard to know where to begin. Along with the recent launch of our new website, we have rolled out quite a few professional initiatives to help the Flourish Team maximize our strengths and work together effectively. We were fortunate to have a colleague and friend guide us through the Clifton StrengthsFinder process in order to help each member of the Flourish Team discover their greatest natural talents and explore how we can most effectively integrate those strengths as a team to accomplish our shared goals.

We will celebrate our 5 year anniversary on April 16th and it has given me pause to reflect on how much has been accomplished in these past five years. I am proud of the growth of Flourish Wealth Management, grateful for the growth that I have experienced as a leader, and incredibly appreciative of the client and professional relationships we have developed. This has been a great opportunity to Flourish!

News from Flourish

The final quarter of 2018, as well as the entire year, has been a whirlwind of excitement and professional growth for the Flourish team. Our newest team member, Nicole Swanson, joined us at the beginning of November and we are grateful for her contributions in her role as Wealth Manager, her passion and dedication to servicing our clients, and for moving from Madison to join us here in Edina. Thanks, Nicole!

Michele Lenz joined us toward the end of 2017 and through hard work and perseverance earned the CFP® designation in August of 2018. And Michelle White joined us in April 2018 as Client Services Manager and has proved to be an invaluable addition to our little family, leading our custodian relationships and supporting our compliance process which is always top of mind in a wealth management firm. We have received wonderful feedback from our clients about our growing team and we look forward to continuing to provide high-quality services in the coming year.
